Arey family papers, 1765-1834.

Collection consists primarily of the papers of Thomas Arey of Eastham, Mass. The bulk of the collection (15 documents) consists of deeds where Thomas Arey is purchasing land in Eastham. One document is the sale of land to his son Joseph Arey. Other documents of interest include an indenture of Edward Nickerson as apprentice to Thomas Arey, 1 March 1808; a handwritten copy of the will of Elnathan Eldredge, father of Dorothy Arey, wife of Joseph, 14 June 1834; and an affidavit, signed by Henry Dearborn, providing proof of Joseph Arey's citizenship, 24 April 1811.
